Day out at Brighton

A group of us from the Wandsworth-Wide Forum went on a day-trip to Brighton recently.

We all met at Clapham Junction railway station.  Everyone was waiting outside the coffee shop until everybody arrived.  When everybody turned up, we were on our way!  Everyone was excited although the morning was a bit chilly.

The train came on time and the journey didn’t take long – under an hour which was very quick to get to Brighton.

As we came out of Brighton station the sun broke through!  This made us very happy as we knew we were in for a good time.  We took a few pictures.

Then we started to look for somewhere to eat.  There was a choice of Chinese, Indian or fish & chips.  We all decided on Chinese and found a restaurant that did a £5 eat-all-you-can buffet which had a lovely array of choices.  Lots of people went up two or three times to refill their plates.  It was lovely.

Afterwards we all made our way to the beach.  People split into smaller groups and went off.  Some of us went to the pier and went playing on the “Penny Shove” machines etc.

We all met up at the station at 4.30pm and we all agreed we had a good time – it turned out to be a great day weather-wise.

Thanks to Barry and Jayne for organising the trip.  We are looking forward to our next social event whether it’s a xmas function, the beach, theatre or anything of interest.
